Since joining Proteus (N.I.) Ltd in 1999, Tommy who is visually-impaired has been involved with monitoring Peace 1 and Interim Gap Funding. After losing most of his sight in 1994 Tommy re-trained with the RNIB in Belfast on the “Through Windows” project. The securing of employment with Proteus was a great boost to his confidence and the training and development policy of Proteus helped him to gain a Diploma from CIIPFA/IPF in Audit Skills and European Funding.

The culmination of this training led to Tommy being awarded a Regional National Training Award in 2002.

Tommy has recently completed the first year exams in trying to achieve an Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management with BIFHE in Belfast.
