Dermott has been with PROTEUS since March 1999, after 9 years working in the community sector, in number of different roles, ranging from a DTP operator in an East Belfast Resource Centre, to Supervising Wider Horizons Projects to Canada and USA .

Dermott was initially employed by PROTEUS as a “Monitoring Assistant” and his responsibilities were to assist the Project Worker with the monitoring of projects funded under the SSPPR (PEACE I). He has since attended a series of in-house training sessions and achieved a “Diploma in Management Practice (Audit Skills – European Funding) AinstAM(Dip)”. He is presently studying for a BA in Social Policy.

During the restructuring of PROTEUS’ staff in November 2001, Dermott was successful in securing one of the Case Officer posts, for the PEACE II programme. He is now responsible for assessing project applications and monitoring the progress of approved project under PROTEUS’ specific measure.
