About Us

  • The organisation dates back to 1986 when we were created as the Northern Ireland University Enterprise Training Partnership (NIUETP).
  • We became incorporated as a company limited by guarantee with charitable status in 1991.
  • The organisation was re-launched, with the new name of PROTEUS, in November 1996.
  • Our principal activity is the provision of support and assistance to the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) under the Northern Ireland ESF Programme 2007- 2013.

Mission Statement

  • To provide technical expertise, understanding and support to people and organisations seeking to take advantage of the opportunities offered to Northern Ireland by membership of the European Union (and any similar bodies), in a fair, unbiased and equitable way.
  • This assistance will normally be in the form of technical assistance and advice related to specific programmes.
