Activities Eligible Under Peace II Extension Programme, Measure 1.3

The Programme Complement identifies a number of activities which it hopes will promote the achievement of the objectives of the Measure, and actions to be supported are as follows:

Action 1: to promote the transition to the knowledge-based economy, particularly in key areas such as software engineering, multimedia applications and ICT

Action 2: to respond to other skills demands stimulated by peace

Action 3: to improve linkages between SMEs and providers of third-level education and training

Action 4: to provide skill enhancement and training, which promotes access to employment and career development

Action 5: to encourage employment practices which allow the achievement of a balance between work and life outside of work

Action 6: to assist disadvantaged groups by providing innovative vocational training activities at various levels

Action 7: to offer education and training initiatives for both young and older people from economic and social black spots and marginalised communities

Action 8: to support confidence- building actions and essential skills development

Action 9: to improve the level of essential skills across the working population, particularly those who have been affected by the conflict and those whose existing employment is threatened
